Writing

First of all, we will present the writing activity “My monster” to our students.

We will tell them that with this activity we are going to review the part of the body that we have been learning before and work on our writing skills.

To see some examples of a description of a monster we will play a game with our students. They will have 4 pictures of monster and 4 descriptions. They have to read the four description and match each monster with its description.

After finishing the game, they have to do is to create their own monster. They will need to draw it in a white paper and keep it save.

After that, we will explain our students that now it the moment to describe their monster in 3 or 4 lines telling their characteristics, as they have seen in the game.

  1. Hello Miriam,
I loved this activity, I find it very interactive and fun. I think it is very useful to, as you say, work the body parts in a very creative way. In addition, having to link each monster with its description makes it even more fun and you get to improve their vocabulary. It serves as an example, so that they can then describe their own monster. I didn't know this resource, but I'll write it down because it seems really useful and entertaining to teach.

  2. Hello Miriam,
I really like the space you have created. It is a blog where you can easily navigate and where you can practice the four skills.
The activity of describing the monster has caught my attention, since first you show them some interactive examples and then they have to create their own monster.
In addition, also in the oral part, I really like the motivation of spinning the wheel, since it creates a lot of interest in the children.
The comprehension game after the listening is much more attractive than asking them the questions.
    Congratulations for creating this blog!

  3. Hello Miriam,
I have been navigating your blog, and I think you created a good space for children to learn English by playing or working in an active way.
Its appearance is motivating for kids due to the colors and pictures.
The writing activity is my favorite because it lets students practice their language skills but also express their ideas and feelings in a creative way, developing their imagination.
I hope I can put these ideas into practice in the future.
    Thanks for sharing!
    Marta
