Speaking

First of all, we will present the Random wheel to our students.

We will explain to then that in this wheel, created with wordwall, we are going to find six different vocabulary phrases, that we have seen recently.

We will ask for a volunteer to read aloud the items of vocabulary that appears in the wheel, and we will make sure everyone knows what they mean.

We will tell them that they will be working in partners, and the steps that they need to follow. First one member of the partner need to spin the wheel and see what item of vocabulary comes up. When they have one item of vocabulary, they will need to answer a question to their partner following this structure of Past Continuos: Were you …… yesterday at 2pm?

The other member of the partner will need to ask the questions and when they finish is their turn to spin the wheel and answer a question.

Each time they spin the wheel, they can delate the piece of vocabulary that comes up to avoid repeat it.

We will do a demonstration of how the wheel works before let them play.

  1. Hi Miriam, I love the organisation of your blog, as well as the activities you propose. I find this one in particular very interesting. Since I started working I have been using wordwall, as I find it a very dynamic and intuitive page and the children love it. I also think that it is an activity that does not require a great complexity, so it can be very simple to develop for teachers and yet very useful to work on the various skills, especially oral skills.

Finally, I love the fact that all the activities are set in a real context, that is to say, all of them can be incorporated in a very simple way in Primary Education classrooms, taking into account the objectives and necessary contents to work on at this stage.

Congratulations on the development of this blog!

  2. Hello Miriam!

Your blog is very useful to be able to work on the different skills with our students. The exercises are not very difficult and it is a very intuitive page for the students themselves to explore.
They are striking activities because of the sounds, the colours or the drawings and images themselves.

Congratulations on your work and thank you for sharing it with others!
